LAND AT HILL POUND, SWANMORE
BJC Planning has successfully obtained planning permission from Winchester City Council on behalf of David Wilson Homes for the erection of 91 dwellings with associated parking, access, landscaping, and surface water drainage. Committee Members accepted their officer’s recommendation and granted planning permission for the scheme at the Council’s Planning Committee.
The development contributes 91 dwellings towards the housing target for Swanmore established within the Council’s Joint Core Strategy. The scheme included a mix of house types, sizes and tenures with 1-5 bedroom properties.
This site also formed part of a larger housing allocation for about 140 dwellings in the Winchester District Local Plan Part 2: Development Management and Allocations. The application site formed the southeastern end of the housing allocation and was separated from remaining developable land by the presence of the Belmont Meadow SINC.
The approved scheme included provision of a vehicular and pedestrian access from Hill Pound and the masterplan submitted as part of the application identified an access serving the remainder of the housing allocation from New Road.
David Wilson Homes have now sold all of the houses on this site.
