17 Aug CLASS Q BARN CONVERSION TO RESIDENTIAL
BJC Planning submitted an application to determine if prior approval was required for a proposed ‘Change of use of a building and land within its curtilage from a use as an agricultural building to a use falling within C3 (dwelling houses) together with building operations reasonably necessary to convert the building’. Fareham Borough Council determined the application on the basis that prior approval was not required.
The existing building is rectangular in shape with a gross internal floor area of 39sqm. It is constructed of concrete breeze block and has a corrugated roof. The building was previously used for storage of soil, seed, germination boxes and machinery. The conversion would comprise one single bedroom, a shower room and an open plan kitchen/dining/living space.
The client now has 3 years to complete the works to the building from the date of the decision.
