30 Oct PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED FOR CHANGE OF USE
BJC Planning has obtained planning permission on behalf of the owner of Unit 4 Rodney Road, Portsmouth for the change of use of the unit from car sales (sui generis) to a mixed use as offices (Class (B1a)) and Warehouse (Class B8). This application pre-dated the changes to the Use Classes Order which came into force on 1st September 2020.
The prospective tenant of the building will be the Solent NHS Trust, who will use the location as a base for their estates department. The building’s location also benefits from the siting of the St Mary’s Community Health Campus immediately adjoining the site to the north.
After some negotiation with Officers, a planning condition was agreed restricting the number of staff using the building to 30. A Travel Plan was also submitted outlining opportunities for staff to travel to work by means other than the private motor car.
Michael was delighted with this result and the benefit this will have to the NHS at this time.
